I've been lucky, using the "internot" address I've been able to access without the virus warning for months. But there was no one else around :ratsad:

@  Tails : (28 May 2018 - 10:13 PM)

i love you all and thanks for still coming back to RN xx

@  Tails : (28 May 2018 - 10:13 PM)

hi guys. short of redoing the whole forums im not too sure on how to rid us of this probem we're having. Im sorry Ive been so absent, but i guess ill explain shortly in a post one of these days. i am going to put a lot more effort into sorting this out, and hopefully in doing that we wont lose any information.

@  Caryn : (16 May 2018 - 11:01 AM)

How strange  I get to the usual full site :/

@  DiscoMoose : (15 May 2018 - 01:36 PM)

Ah... makes sense about the warning page. So glad she found a workaround, so as not to scare of potential new forum peeps... still, if I visit ratanooga.co.za I get only a 'hello' on the page *blush*

@  Caryn : (13 May 2018 - 05:48 PM)

Tails created the alternative forum address to get around that big red warning page, hence the redirection. No idea what's going on in general though, haven't heard from Tails in ages :( The main Ratanooga.co.za website though is still up and running as per normal.

So, I thought I'd share the funny experiences of an inexperienced, new rattie mom!  I have found it very difficult to find cages, toys, food and hammock beds etc. for rats in JHB.  Everything seems to be in Cape Town (unless I'm being really blond and looking in all the wrong places!)  So, I ordered everything on line and had it delivered to JHB.  Today, the beds arrived to much excitement.  Then I opened the box and everything was HUGE!  Hahahahahaha.... I had no idea how big they would be - needless to say, instead of having 3 beds to choose from, only one bed fits in the cage!  And the cool monster toy is TWICE the size of the cage (and it was the smaller toy!)  Big shout out to Annerie from Mischief - the items are gorgeous.  Totally my mistake for not realising the true size of everything.  I'm still giggling.  At least I have spare beds for when one is being washed.

hehe...

how big is the cage for how many ratties? They need a lot of space so we need to check that the cage will be big enough (:

Thanks. Yup, it's supposed to be ok - big enough for 3 females apparently. Tried to post a picture but couldn't figure it out. Caryn's how to on loading them on the third party website was great but I couldn't figure out how to then attach to my forum message??

Mischief Pet Products is based in Gauteng, that is Anneri :)   There is nothing in Durban, I usually purchase all my fabric cubes, hammocks, tents, bunks, etc from Settican of Rat Comforts in CT though.  Her stuff is amazing.   And I buy all my cages from Petmania's online shop and deliver up this way from CT too.

You just need to copy the image link and paste it directly into your message where you are normally typing your replies or posts.  Make sure you choose the "BBCode Full" that has the [IMG/: bit on each end and your image will display as soon as you press post :)

hehehe oh claire.shame man swty but don't worry about the mistake, as i have done a similar thing before from anneri except i ordered to small. :ratgiggle: :ratgiggle:

my biggest girl at the time (candi) squished herself into the small corner bed or at least tried too.& got her bottom stuck outside & head inside.it was rather funny as she was such a pedigreed upper crust lady rat.after man handling her & finally getting her unstuck.she scuppered off & sulked with paws crossed on my pillow.she was most upset & not amused. :laughCry:

my baby rats were happy as they got the smaller bedding instead. :tummykiss:

I also buy from Settican, her goods are awesome and much loved. I even have the first few hammocks that I bought years ago. My boys love to chew their cubes to pieces but fortunately the hammocks and double bunks have lasted an age even though it's always a treat to get new bedding. The fleece she uses is really good quality. I have the added privilege of going to fetch personally as well.. being in Cape Town and having her 10 min from my daughters school :D
My current Ratties: Dove, Marybelle, Rosy, Ivy, Peaches, Plum and Duff (girls) Thunder, Doodle and Wallee (neutered boys) then my intact boys: Rodger and Dodger :ratlol: :tummykiss:

Always remembered, always in my heart, RIP my children: Sandy (our first ratty love) Pepper, Mickey, Snowy, Cloudy, Kellogs, Snoekie, Thing 1, Wotnot, Thing 2, Mischief, Monty, Barney, Seamus, Dolores aka Dilly, Jerry, Brian, Alfred, Patches, Stewie, Squeak, Bubble, Treble, Hayley, Onyx, Milo, Roxie, baby Bailey, FiFi, Bass, Bangerang, Emo, Nibbs and Roo :bigeyecry: :ratangel:

RIP my doggy loves: Andy and Toffee, loved and missed forever
