Oh cluna.i am sorry.sweet baggs.how is Baer doing?. *hugs*

@  Rattieroos : (14 February 2018 - 11:42 PM)

Recently lost Dove and Peaches as well. Dove had an ovarian tumor that even the vet was shocked at the size. I let him do a necropsy and he let me stay. Then Peaches had 3 lumps removed but somewhere within the 1st or 2nd day recovery from the surgery, she must have had a stroke or a blood clot :bigeyecry:

@  Rattieroos : (14 February 2018 - 11:38 PM)

@  Caryn : (12 February 2018 - 07:43 AM)

I'm so very sorry Cluna :ratsad:

@  Cluna : (09 February 2018 - 12:09 PM)

Thanks Lolly. It would probably be worse for me, but better for her as she loved us so much. She always wanted out of the cage and to be with us. When I found her, she even looked like she was trying to get out the cage. I can only hope that her best friend Bear was there for her at least. Man, we miss her so much. :ratsad:

@  lollyh : (05 February 2018 - 07:43 PM)

Oh cluna.i am so so sorry to hear about baggs. :ratsad: she went the best way.its not easy when they pass in your hands but maybe I've just had to many goodbyes like that.i hope your heartache eases soon.she will always be in your heart. *hugs* .we are all hear from you.

@  Cluna : (05 February 2018 - 12:58 PM)

Hi guys. I haven't been around in a while, and I don't know if you remember me or my ratties, Baggs and Bear. Sadly Baggs (nearly 3) passed on Friday. She was incredibly thin and her breathing was so heavy. Unfortunately, I found her in her cage in the morning and didn't have her die in my hands like I'd wished. She was my heart rat and I am still absolutely devastated. :bigeyecry:

@  Caryn : (19 January 2018 - 06:37 PM)

Thanks. Yeah, she was nearing 2,5yrs and had been on heart meds for CHF for close to 8mths. I got way more time with her than I expected to be honest, but it's never enough time :ratsad:

Hi all.

So friday i found a new pet store near us which sell mainly food products & some medicine products. no pets their.yay!! so no temptation to add any new additions to me furbabies. :ratgiggle:

& while i was browsing,i found this Versele-laga cripy snack popcorn. the lady said its for small mammals (which is what it says on the bag) & is new in store & is also for rats & while looking on the ingredients it says protein 10% ,which i thought was low (hope i was right?) & scrutinized the bag.not many sunflower seeds at all!! which i was amazed so i bought it. *blush* . 650g bag for R80.was that expensive?

my girls didn't want it at first, down right turned their noses up at all.but the next day & today they are almost fighting over it.its suppose to mixed with their main food i think but my girls are eating it up like food. *blush* :ratcookie:

but now i am wondering is it ok for ratties?.

here is the link & info on it

http://www.petzilla....ck-popcorn.html

http://www.chubbypet...k-popcorn-.html

this link has a picture of what the food looks like.i have alot more puff wheat in my bag.

thank you in advance. *hugs*

I've bought it before and given it as a snack more than a meal.. added a small handful in the cage twice a week.. to me it looked like it was more 'sweeties' than food...

Also bought it as a snack for my boys. They don't eat the rings though. Just something different once a week for them.

It does state on the website info for it that it's not a complete dry mix and should be used as a snack/treat.  Personally I wasn't keen on the look of it, I've seen it at Village Vet in Kloof too Lollyh.  It just seemed to be full of a lot of corn flakes (which isn't good anyway) and puffed wheat (which my girls don't really eat), so I've never bothered to try it.
