Oh cluna.i am sorry.sweet baggs.how is Baer doing?. *hugs*

@  Rattieroos : (14 February 2018 - 11:42 PM)

Recently lost Dove and Peaches as well. Dove had an ovarian tumor that even the vet was shocked at the size. I let him do a necropsy and he let me stay. Then Peaches had 3 lumps removed but somewhere within the 1st or 2nd day recovery from the surgery, she must have had a stroke or a blood clot :bigeyecry:

@  Caryn : (12 February 2018 - 07:43 AM)

I'm so very sorry Cluna :ratsad:

@  Cluna : (09 February 2018 - 12:09 PM)

Thanks Lolly. It would probably be worse for me, but better for her as she loved us so much. She always wanted out of the cage and to be with us. When I found her, she even looked like she was trying to get out the cage. I can only hope that her best friend Bear was there for her at least. Man, we miss her so much. :ratsad:

Oh cluna.i am so so sorry to hear about baggs. :ratsad: she went the best way.its not easy when they pass in your hands but maybe I've just had to many goodbyes like that.i hope your heartache eases soon.she will always be in your heart. *hugs* .we are all hear from you.

@  Cluna : (05 February 2018 - 12:58 PM)

Hi guys. I haven't been around in a while, and I don't know if you remember me or my ratties, Baggs and Bear. Sadly Baggs (nearly 3) passed on Friday. She was incredibly thin and her breathing was so heavy. Unfortunately, I found her in her cage in the morning and didn't have her die in my hands like I'd wished. She was my heart rat and I am still absolutely devastated. :bigeyecry:

@  Caryn : (19 January 2018 - 06:37 PM)

Thanks. Yeah, she was nearing 2,5yrs and had been on heart meds for CHF for close to 8mths. I got way more time with her than I expected to be honest, but it's never enough time :ratsad:

I asked Ash to get me some Ensure when he was at the shops the other day. When he got back he checked the table on the back and compared it to his whey protein that he makes protein shakes with and said it is quite similar. He is sponsored by one of the supplements brands so he can get whey for a lot cheaper than what I pay for Ensure. He said why don't I change from Ensure to Whey (it also comes in the same flavours as Ensure). Does anyone know if this is ok to do? Or has anyone done this before?

The only reason I've only ever used Ensure is because it was recommended to me by my vet specifically and used in their hospital for sick/recovering patients.

But if the ingredients are the same then I don't see why it wouldn't be fine.

I've also wondered about the other nutritional substances which are next to ensure on the shelf? If they also have same ingredients could I switch to that as its a lot cheaper? Thanks

I don't see why there'd be a problem if the ingredients are the same as Ensure.  I just personally stick to the Ensure because it's the one that's always been recommended and used and I'm just ridiculously paranoid about things like that :P
